About DakotaLizzie

Welcome to The Good Life!

Well, at least my version of it. As the name might suggest, I’m Liz and I’m originally from South Dakota. I moved to Missouri for graduate school, and about a week after I graduated, this blog began. I wanted an area to explore Life After School (in order words, what was I about to do with all that free time?). That morphed primarily into life chats, crafting and cooking (which this blog still features a lot of, for better or for worse).

Fast forward three years and my life shifted again — this time with a move to Nebraska, where the state motto is the Good Life. It brought me closer to family (I lovingly refer to my two sisters as the middle and the little) and opened new opportunities, which was incredibly fitting for continuing with my 30 Before 30 List. Oh, and it brought me the love of my life: my yellow labrador, Hurley.

Navigating The Good Life is really about navigating life as a twentysomething young professional. This blog captures some of those ups and downs, with lots of quotes, articles/books, perspective and DIY projects. Oh, and my yellow lab.

Join me on my ever-changing journey, from crossing off items on my 30 Before 30 List to trying my hand in the kitchen and with power tools (thankfully not at the same time). My parents gave me the gift of writing and sarcasm, so at least it should be somewhat entertaining (you’ll find I’m a fan of these sidenotes in parenthesis and ellipses…). The Type A part of my personality tries to blog three times a week, but there’s no telling where my energy will be focused once I’ve got a few cups of coffee in me.

I'm a twentysomething young professional living in Nebraska. My blog centers on the things I love - my family, dogs, friends, crafting, cooking, life chats and health. All these things help me lead the good life, and isn't that really what it's all about?
