With a new year I figured my blog could use a new look, too.
Like last year, I’m a bit late in finalizing my new year’s action plans. (The little sis convinced me to see them as action plans instead of resolutions. Although this is also the girl who now calls them new year’s whims instead of action plans…).
Tomorrow, though, I’ll be crafting my monthly goals bucket and should have my list finalized. I’m actually kind of excited about it because I feel like I’ve switched my mindset to have a much healthier and realistic approach to resolutions. I’m not naive enough to think I’m going to wake up on January 1 and all the sudden be patient, lose my passive-aggressive tendencies and never struggle to get my butt to the gym. I don’t want to set myself up for failure or to be annoyed with something that should be making my life better.
Last year, for example, I made myself workout an extra mile for every 12 ounces of soda I drank. Motivating, yes. But it was also miserable. I hate feeling guilty for every soda I consumed. This year I’d rather reward myself for not drinking my beloved Diet Coke instead of punishing myself for drinking it. My goal is to have action plans that enhance my life. What can I do that’s going to bring more meaning and adventure?
Stay tuned and see what that entails… (And also feel free to send suggestions!)
