I’ve discovered that while I’m not a huge fan of morning workouts, it often saves a lot of hassle and headaches – especially on the weekend. In addition to the new job, I also agreed to stay on for just 5 hours a week with one of my old positions (I’m telling you, I’m a workaholic). Yesterday I only intended to be at the office for an hour or two, but ended up being there closer to four hours.
Once I got home, curling up with my Nook sounded a lot more appealing than going out for a jog. So, I compromised. Kind of. I let myself lounge and read only after I did a workout DVD. I threw in a DVD for a quick 10-minute leg strengthening segment and called it a day. I only felt guilty about it when I realized I would have to post that I didn’t actually jog. Another motivation provided by Juneathon.
Unfortunately, I didn’t seem to learn my lesson about the mornings workouts. Today I’m facing the guilt and frustration of not getting my jog in first thing this morning. I woke up and, while dark, it was at least dry. Five minutes into my morning commute, there was pouring rain and even a bit of hail. Since then it’s been raining on and off, so I”m not sure what my workout will look like for Day 13. I’m hoping for clear skies, semi-dry roads and a bit of energy on my end. I’ll have to report back later about how my jogging conditions turn out.
Hopefully I’ve learned my lesson and tomorrow I’ll get my butt out of bed early enough to get my jog in before work. Although 4:50 a.m. comes awfully early…
